We had a field trip!

It is raining like crazy out here and pretty much has been for a week. Avery was sick earlier this week so we had to spend 2 days in the house so I decided that wasn't going to work today. At the very least I couldn't handle the dogs being cooped up inside! So, we decided to go to Habitot in Berkeley. It is a little museum for kids 0-6 and it is pretty cute. Not real big but a lot for little ones. Her favorite was the Gak (the blue play-doh like stuff) so I got the recipe and we can make it at home.
Then for lunch we went to Great China and had almond chicken, rice, soup and tea. Since there is very little parking there we took the Bart so she even had her first train ride. She thought that was pretty neat!
We had a great day!

It's a real baby!!

So, Ryan and I had our first ultrasound today. They do this test here called and NT test and it looks for down syndrome markers. It's a fairly new test and not done everywhere. (One of the perks of going to a large hospital!) Thankfully we are very low risk for chromosomal disorders which is always nice to hear. Honestly, we did this test with Avery and with this one just for the early ultrasound. Without this option we'd have to wait until 20 weeks. Can you imagine... he he
She tried to see the sex but at this age it is harder and s/he just wasn't in the right position. I guess we'll have to wait those 6 more weeks. Already they seem a bit different. Avery was all over the place, rolling and kicking, this one just sort of laid there. Who knows, probably means nothing but we shall see!
Every time it is exciting and Ryan and just wonder at the miracle God has given us.
The baby is 2.5 in long and everything is in the right place. S/he is measuring about 1 week bigger than gestational age. That isn't too unusual, Avery was measuring about 5 days bigger at this same time.
Most of the pics are very good and s/he is obviously cute! :)
There is one that looks like a demon child. Very scary!! Hopefully that isn't a sign...
