Six Flags

When Marianne and Denny came for a visit they got us a season pass to Six Flags. They have a zoo and rides so it will be something we can do more than once. It came with a book of discounts and 1 of the coupons was that we could bring a friend for free in June. Luckily we were able to find a Friday between our vacations that Beth and Karoline could come with us. We had a great time! We got there at about 10:30 and stayed for about 3.5 hours. The girls had to push their naps back but did great all day. They both loved the rides and Avery loved seeing the animals again so it was a well-spent day!

This ride was a bit jerky so I didn't go on it. Beth took them both and you can tell by Avery's face that she isn't so sure about it. This is after the first time around. Beth wasn't sure Avery would like it since she had already done it with Karoline but there was no way to explain that to Avery so I figured she'd have to figure it out the hard way.

There were a few rides that didn't look good for a pregnant lady so Beth either rode them twice or took both the girls.

San Diego Zoo

This is my favorite picture of the weekend. People should know that I LOVE these cut-outs and I have always made Ryan pose behind them. For some reason they crack me up! What I love is that Avery already is willing to get her picture taken with them. She will walk up and put her head through with no problem! I love it!!!!

Another shot of Avery hugging a goat. My mom pointed out that she's hugged a lot of goats in her 2 years! She has to go to every goat in the petting zoo and say hi.

There were 2 river otters playing in the water but then right before we moved on this one came up to see Avery!

Avery loved it when the animals came up to the glass to see her. This is a meerkat.

This was an absolutely gigantic orangutan! It must have been pretty old because its hair was long and matted and he didn't move very much. Avery thought he was kinda neat.

This is the baby panda they have at the zoo. We actually got some pretty good views of the pandas that day.

This was at the end of our zoo visit. She looks cute in this picture but she was getting quite crabby from lack of nap. This is in front of the koalas but unfortunately you can't see any.

Our visit to SeaWorld

Avery got to meet Grover over the weekend. She went right up to him and had no problem giving him a hug. Funny enough though when Tully came out later she was scared of him. I think it was because I was holding her because as soon as I put her down she would give him a hug.

SeaWorld has this toddler area with a Sesame Street theme. They had this jumpy thing that was supposed to be like a tidepool and this play gym you could climb on. Watching Avery with all the other kids made me think about 2 years from now when she has her very own playmate full-time. I think the girls will have a great time together exploring so many things.

This was our view from our breakfast with Shamu. Great seats right!

Avery wanted to get in the water and swim with the whales.

This is by the whale viewing pool at SeaWorld. As you can see the whales would get very close! It was really neat to see them swim. The little whale is a baby whale swimming next to its mother. They are such amazing animals, and it was more amazing to look at them through Avery's eyes.

Avery loved the pool at the hotel and was really trying to swim. She would even go under water all the way. Ryan took her one afternoon to let me give my back a rest and enjoyed some daddy-daughter time.

Near our hotel there was this little old fashioned Mission town and they had all these cute little shops. One of them sold old fashioned candy. When she saw that she got so excited. In fact she found it with Ryan while I was at another shop and was begging him for candy then. Not wanting to get in trouble Ryan said that she needed to ask me first. Next thing you know she's running down the path and all I hear is "Mommy, Mommy, I want to show you something" She took my hand so we bought her the candy stick. As you can see she enjoyed it very much!

SeaWorld Video

These are some of the videos I took at SeaWorld. As you can see we had a great time. The breakfast with Shamu was pretty neat. We got there at 9:30 and they had a nice buffet for food. Then the trainers came out and talked to us about the whales and then did a little show. It was really neat to be so close to everything.
