February 2010

Just a random collection of photos to show how the girls are growing. Isabel has reached that fun, but exhausting, stage. She loves the top of the table and "helping" in the kitchen. She will stand on ANYTHING and can not be distracted. Any food on the table or counter is free game. She has also started this thing where if she is mad at me for denying her something she will do 1 of 2 things, or sometimes even both. One is cover her eyes like she can't see me to show she is ignoring me, the other is throw herself down on the ground, no matter where we are, and refuse to get up. She doesn't scream or cry, just refuses to move and ignores me. She did this while we were hiking because I wouldn't let her keep playing in the mud puddle.
Her laugh is contagious though and she is so smart. The other day I had removed the step-stool from the kitchen so she went into the bedroom and got the stool and carried/pushed it all by herself to the kitchen. A little later Avery was using the stool so she went and got the tiny chair and carried that in. She has this wonderful way of laying her head on your shoulder and cuddling with you.

She loves to climb!

My kitchen helper.

Privacy

So I'm hearing things about blogs being hacked and the pictures used in advertisements or for someone else to "steal" a family for their blog. We have become a world with very little privacy but I've decided that I should use all tools to keep some privacy for the girls as long as possible. This blog is not their choice, but mine. I'm still going to keep it going as it provides a great tool for grandparents and friends to keep updated, plus I've finally started the process to turn it into a book for the kids some day! I've just decided to privatize the blog and require people to sign in. I'll start that in about a week so if you are a regular reader and want to be added to the list please send me an email at
wiloson-emily@sbcglobal.net and I'll "invite" you and all you'll have to do is sign in prior to reading.

I realize if I wanted complete privacy I should delete the blog but I haven't been that turned off yet. Plus then I'd have to go back to scrapbooking my memories and that is painful...
