Video from Big Sur

Big Sur

While Ryan was skiing with the boys in Breckenridge, CO, Avery and I decided to go to Big Sur, CA. I was reading an article in the paper and it was talking about how last weekend was the perfect time to go down there and see some of the famous waterfalls they have. Ryan said he didn't mind missing it so off we went. We stayed overnight in Monterey and did so much stuff in those 36 hours. We saw 2 waterfalls (the picture of the one on the beach is apparently semi-famous and in many calendars and stuff), saw the fish at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, had a wonderful dinner by the water, and hiked up to some beautiful views.
One of the cutest things she did was find "walking" sticks while we were hiking. Most of the time she was in the backpack but I would let her out at the ends so she could walk around as well. She actually found sticks and then used them to "hike" with. So cute. I've never used a walking stick so I guess she just saw a few people on the trails and it made sense to her!
Avery was the perfect traveling companion and so well-behaved the entire time. I really can't think of any time that she was cranky or disagreeable. We missed Ryan and I'm sure he would have enjoyed himself as well but being with his friends and skiing eased the pain a bit.
The next trip will be as a family as we are planning to go to San Diego for Avery's 2nd birthday. With all of Ryan's work travel we have so many nights in hotels we might as well take advantage of it!
Hope you enjoy the photos and the video!

Cute Pictures of Avery

I don't have a theme for this post. Just some pictures I've taken over the past few weeks that I'm sure grandparents want to see.
For Christmas Avery's very talented PopPop made her a stool so she now helps me cook and do the dishes. She seems to have fun. Just this weekend we made cookies and she helped me put in the flour and the sugar then I went to get the baking soda, placed it by the mixer, turned to get the teaspoon and came back to an empty box! She had helped so much by putting 1/4 of the box in the mix. We were able to spoon the extra out and the cookies tasted fine. It was funny though. We might not do chocolate cookies much though because as she would get cocoa on her hand she would wipe them on my shirt to clean them off.
The video is us dancing. She likes to do that every night and my mom wanted to see it. The funny thing is that everyone has to dance with a partner and she'll give you one if you don't have it. Very cute.

I reluctantly post these pics of my belly but people wanted to see these as well. It seems that over the past 24hrs my belly has exploded. I'm finally feeling pregnant. The funny thing is that I wasn't even this big at 22wks with Avery. No one lied when they said you start showing earlier with the second!
