Vacation in FL

So we just got back from our trip to Florida. We went with Ryan's best friend David and his wife Carrie and had a great time. My parents also stayed nearby so they took Avery for a couple nights while we went to Captiva Island. I missed my little girl terribly but it was nice to have some "adult" time. While we were there we hit a lot of restaurants but also had fun biking through the Ding Darling Preserve.
Avery turned one while we there and so we gave her Key Lime Pie and sang to her. She really likes the singing part and really seemed to enjoy the pie. She also really liked the pool and Ryan and David had a fun time playing with her. The weather was awesome while we were there and we really got a chance to relax. Unfortunately the vacation had to end but hopefully we can keep that vacation feeling for a little longer.

Happy Birthday Avery!

Avery had her first birthday party today. She is 1 week and 1 day from being officially 1. I can't believe how fast it went. She is awfully sweet! As you can see she liked the cake but she is a little lady and didn't make too much of a mess. She did decide to take her hat off and put it in the cake! Just so you know Ryan made and decorated the cake. A talent he developed at Ritter's that he can use at parties. I for one think he did a wonderful job and it tasted great!

Easter

Christ is Risen Today!! What a wonderful thing to know! We had a great weekend. Avery went to her first Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday and today we went to church and then our friends Beth, TJ and Karoline came over. Unfortunately I didn't get pics of them at lunch but hopefully Beth did and they are on her blog. (the link to Karoline's is under the links tab on this blog) The first picture is Avery watching the juggler that we had at the hunt. She was enthralled with what he was doing.
Of course I think Avery looks so cute. Her dress is a bit short but she wears it well with her nice legs...

I got Ryan to put his nice shirt on and go out and get more pics. The family one was a challenge as we were out of battery and didn't have a 4 person to take it but I think after some editing it came out nice!

Here is the patio Ryan built. He did a great job and it is so nice to sit outside and enjoy. We can even use it during the cool nights since we have the fire pit.

Here are some new pictures of Avery. The first are of her after she ate some raspberries. She loves them but made a big mess! The other are from today. She was "helping" me do the laundry. For some reason she loved the socks and kept chewing on one! Too cute!

Beautiful Weather

It has been about 80 degrees here lately. We have been going to the park and walking with the dogs a lot. Avery pretty much smells like sunscreen all the time. Here are some cute pics of her in one of her cutest outfits. Of course one that a Grandma bought! On the sidewalk she is sitting next to Lily. Her and Lily play all day long since her mom Val watches them. We also meet every Friday with other Mommies for a Mommy and Me outing. We just go to the park but it's nice to hang out with people.

Growing up!

Avery is getting so big! I can't believe she'll be 1 in a couple of months. I haven't been good at keeping up with the blog but I have some new pics now. Some were taken a couple of weeks ago but the park ones were taken today. I can't believe she is really old enough to enjoy the park. It's amazing that she gets more fun everyday! She really loves the swings. In fact after the park we went to ToysRUs and bought one of those swing we attached to our front porch. As you can see she didn't like the slide as much! I think it felt too much like falling. If we went down with her she was fine, just not by herself!

SuperBowl Champs!!

How exciting, the Colts as Super Bowl Champs! We had a great time with our friends but it would have been fun to be in Indy to feel the energy. Although we had such a great time here! Tonight Avery started waving Bye-bye spontaneously for the first time. Some friends were leaving and she just started waving. I've been working on this for a couple weeks, it's just neat to see that she is absorbing things. The video is obviously staged since I didn't have the camera ready the first time.
