Princesses and Football

Here are some pictures from the weekend. Isabel found the princess crown and enjoyed wearing that for a while. Of course Avery had to put it on as well. I know I've said it before but my girls get along so well. Of course they have their occasional squabbles but in general they share well and enjoy each other. Avery was even sharing her Rice Krispie treat with Isabel. (now that's love...)

(Just a little story about the chair seen in some of the pictures. It's a peek-a-boo chair that was an awesome find at a garage sale but nearly lead to the downfall of a treasured friendship. It's a pod shaped chair that has a shield that comes down to cover the front of it. Ikea sells them for $79 and every time we go there I want one because I would have loved to have this "secret" place to hide and read as a child. Well last weekend Kelly and I went to a neighborhood garage just to see what we could find. Well we hadn't been in the neighborhood 5 min before we saw someone bringing that out to the street. I stopped in the middle of the road because Kelly was already jumping out of the car and we both ran up to the house. The girl was selling it for $5!!!! Now because I had cash and Kelly was borrowing from me I got it! I feel horrible and I'm probably not a great friend but we have decided that we will share it and trade off every month. Not ideal but we are also going to look for it on Craigslist and get a second one. The truth is that it's really not a comfortable chair and I'm sure one family will naturally get tired of it so it will work out in the end. In case you are feeling bad for Kelly she did end up getting the shelf/basket caddy that I have been looking for for months, and she got if for free! So, in a way we are even...)

Most of you also know that it was Football Sunday and can I tell you how happy I am that this "beloved" season is back! (dripping with sarcasm...) I blame my mom for my lack of football fun, she ruined all of us but there's no changing me and unless he gets one of the girls involved he'll continue to watch the games alone. But because I do love my husband I try a bit and so for church on Sunday I got the girls all "dressed up" in football outfits to surprise him. I think he appreciated the effort and they did look awfully cute!

Here you go Dad

I'll have a better one soon, this was all I could do tonight!

Cute pictures of the girls!

Just some random pictures of the girls over the past few weeks. Isabel is a very good walker at this point and the girls get cuter together all the time. Isabel has such a funny personality, she will mimic my funny faces and she just laughs at everything. She always has to have something in her hands when she walks around the house. Forget the baby toys, she's all about what Avery plays with.

Poor Isabel the morning of her birthday. Didn't wake up so sweetly.

Much better a few minutes later on Grandma's shoulder. This is my favorite thing about this sweet baby, she loves to rest her head on my shoulder. She will do this all day long.

Ikea had face painting last weekend. Avery wanted to be a dog! This was the first time she did this. I was impressed, she sat very still the whole time and didn't wipe it off until she got home.

These are the sunflowers Avery and I planted. We literally did nothing more to them but put the seeds in the ground.

Baby Thomas at the park.

Sydney-Kate at the SF carousel.

Me and Isabel at the carousel.

Marianne's Birthday

Marianne came for visit a couple weeks ago and it also happened to be her birthday. I guess she realized that it was the best way to make sure I remembered! I am so horrible with birthday!
It was a good visit for her with the girls but unfortunately not so good for Ryan as he was pretty sick the entire weekend, so bad in fact that we ended up taking him to the ER. It was just a bad virus and dehydration since he was working so many hours in the hot sun but it did keep him in bed most of the weekend. He did make it out for cupcakes the last night!
Other than that we didn't do very much. Avery and I took her to the Farmer's Market and Trader Joe's on Saturday but the rest of the weekend was on the couch. Nice and relaxing.

Beautiful eyes!

Well, I actually have a lot of pictures to post but just thought I would get these up now. My dad wants to put Avery in this contest for beautiful eyes. I guess he has some prizes he wants to win. :) Anyway, I've started playing around with photoshop and this is how I was able to make Avery's eyes POP. She has beautiful eyes to begin with but it was fun to play around.

Isabel's birthday

I can't believe my little girl is 1! We had such a wonderful day for such a wonderful girl. Her party was so much fun but I couldn't have done it without my friend Kelly. She spent so many hours planning and searching the internet for the perfect theme. I'll never forget the day she asked me what the theme was for her party, my response was "I guess birthday?". That didn't go over so well so she then took over and came up with such a cute party. I was a bit overwhelmed by the plethora of decorations and plans she had for us but it was wonderful in the end. I even found talent that I didn't know I had!

Look at these cute decorations!

Pony races!

Avery had so much going on that day with grandparents and parties. She just needed a little nap during the game time.

Playing a water game.

Look at these cute cupcakes!

Isabel really wanted this cupcake!
